A Quick Conversation with…Toni!

Toni is a fundamental part of Zixtel and has been since it began! Being responsible for HR roles, Toni has been vital in the recruitment drive throughout the pandemic. Read our quick conversation with Toni to gain an insight into Zixtel’s Life is Good Officer!

1. Tell us about where you grew up.

I grew up in Leeds but moved to Staffordshire after meeting my now husband in Amsterdam. We stayed there for around four years before coming back to Leeds and buying the childhood home I grew up in.

2. What brought you to Zixtel?

I really enjoyed the idea of working within the family business and with my mum in particular. We are very similar in the way we work which makes working together really enjoyable. I’ve had the pleasure of being with Zixtel from the early days; the expansion to where we are now has been amazing to be a part of!

3. How long have you been in this industry?

I started in stock control back when we were ADD around 11 years ago. I was studying A-Level Law at the time and naturally progressed into HR within the company. IT is an exciting industry to be a part of; no two days are the same and I’ve met some truly wonderful people along the way!

4. What is your role at Zixtel and what do you like about it?

I manage HR within the company which is a role that is definitely expanding with the company. We have been lucky to be in a position to be able to massively drive recruitment throughout the pandemic. To be able to offer 100% job security in otherwise uncertain times is something we are very proud of.

5. What is your favorite thing about working for Zixtel?

The people are the highlight for me. We have an amazing team that just keeps growing!

6. What would you say is your USP?

It doesn’t matter how busy I am, if somebody needs help, it doesn’t matter what with, I’ll be there?.

7. What do you like to do outside of work?

I have two young children who keep me very busy! As a family, we love to explore new places. The Lake District is my favourite place in the world; everywhere there is so relaxed and carefree.

8. Do you have any hidden talents?

Not really but I’m pretty good at planning a party!

9. Who is your ideal party guest and why?

David Attenborough. What a life he has lived! I would love to hear all about it!
