A Round up of 2020
Well, what a year it has been! The pandemic hitting the UK at the start of the year caused lots of uncertainty across the country. Many businesses were not able to continue operating. However, Zixtel has managed to thrive and grow in this challenging year. We have achieved a lot in 2020 and are looking forward to seeing what the new year will bring.
Zixtel’s achievements
Although Covid-19 was initially an obstacle for the company, we were able to create risk assessments so that we could stay open and trade safely. Initially a couple of members of the team left the Zixtel family. Despite this, we have gone on to welcome 6 new employees to the team this year. This gave opportunities to those who had felt the negative effects of Covid-19 and allowed us to develop and grow as a business.
As our team has continued to grow, we built new offices on our premises to hold the expanding sales team. Adam, who has worked with us for 7 years, has completed his first year working within the sales team and has hit record targets. We welcomed Danny to the Zixtel family, who has taken on the role of Managing Director, whilst Jon has been focusing on a very exciting project! We can tell you more about in the new year.
At Zixtel, we have achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for the 9th year running this year. These accreditations show our dedication to providing quality products and services, working in the most efficient and effective ways. Additionally, it demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and ensures that all our processes are environmentally friendly.
We are thrilled to say that Julie and Jon have both achieved Wamitab Level 4 qualifications. This shows their commitment to making Zixtel as sustainable as possible.
Take a look at the infographic below to see what we achieved in terms of our services this year.
Wetherby and Surrounding Areas Networking Group
We saw firsthand the challenges faced by local businesses since the pandemic began. Inspired by this, we decided to form a Wetherby and Surrounding Areas Networking Group. It is a free online networking group designed to help local businesses promote their services and products. Local businesses are encouraged to share offers, news and advice. The aim is that the group will provide much needed guidance and support. We are always looking for new members! If you know any businesses in the Wetherby area that could benefit from this group, please guide them to the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/699861570959102, or ask them to email whatsnew@wetherbynetworking.com.
Sponsorship of the Knaresborough Reserves
This year, Zixtel became sponsors of the Knaresborough Reserves football team. It has been a difficult year for sport, with games being cancelled and limited crowds allowed. In 2021, we will continue to support the team and hope that we will be able to watch some great football!
Looking ahead to 2021
As we close the book on this unprecedented year, we look ahead to 2021. We have exciting things in the pipeline for the business and our customers.
Although the UK is leaving the EU, we still have the same environmental responsibilities as we always have done. Therefore, we will be continuing in our mission to create a circular economy by providing businesses with sustainable IT solutions.
We look forward to seeing what the new year has to offer.
A note from our Operations Director, Julie Pickersgill
“Our business has, just like a lot of other businesses and organisations, had a challenging year. However, we took the decision to keep going, putting into place new practices to keep our employees and customers safe, and we are in the lucky position to have been able to continue and to grow and develop. We continue to employ and invest in our people, employees, suppliers and customers, and subsequently this has meant we have been able to develop our portfolio.
We are proud to say that Zixtel has achieved the standards required for a full Waste Management Permit; SR2015 No3 Metal recycling and waste electrical and electronic equipment authorised treatment facility (ATF).
It’s taken a great deal of hard work, but we are pleased to announce that we will be able to offer a greatly enhanced service to clients, both new and old.
We are looking forward to 2021 and hopefully the return of some normality where we can continue to deliver a service second to none. We are sure 2021 will come with its own challenges but we love a good challenge ?.
On behalf of Zixtel, we would like to wish all our customers and suppliers, and most of all our team who make it possible – a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!”
